BYK-Gardner develops innovative high-tech instruments, software and services for testing color, appearance and physical properties.
For 30 years, "Farbe & Lack" has honored young authors from the paint and coatings industry and their technical contributions in the field of coatings research. The prize 2023 was awarded to the article “Schwarzmessung – neu gedacht” (A new approach to measure Black) co-authored by BYK Instruments and Orion Engineered Carbons. The prize was presented to Ms. Finder at the VILF conference on representative of the group of authors.
We are pleased that the evaluation of deepest black with our innovative “PRO”- measurement instrument series has met the interest of the readers and the jury and confirms BYK-Gardner as a leading partner for the paint and plastic industries for quality control of color. Let’s celebrate together!
Color quality control of small parts made easy with the new spectro2go XS
The visual impression defines our judgment of quality and is the key driver in our purchasing decision. Color uniformity, also referred to as “COLOR HARMONY”, is especially important for multi-component products. Small parts can easily stand out like a thorn in the side, if their color does not match the other components.
WELCOME the new spectro2go XS
New color spectrophotometer for measurement of small parts
This innovative product family makes it possible to detect and measure the thickness of each individual layer in a multilayer coating system. In automotive coatings, for example, PELT® gauges can be used to determine whether the film thickness of the e-coat, primer, basecoat, or clearcoat layers have each been applied within specifications. A special feature is that this ultrasound-based technology can be used on metallic as well as non-metallic materials such as carbon fiber, plastics, glass, wood, and composites. We are excited to be able to offer the industry standard PELT® thickness gauging technology.
